We sold the house in Lambton after fifteen years and I keep thinking about the dumb stuff that actually worked.
Pantry was tiny but the pull-out bins in the lower cupboards meant the kids could find snacks without unpacking half the kitchen. Laundry had a sorting shelf above the trough, not fancy, just somewhere for darks and lights before wash day. Garage had one long bench down the side with power at both ends so the mower charger and the drill battery were not fighting over one GPO.
Building again near Newcastle now and the display village makes everything look like you need stone benchtops and a butlers pantry to be happy. I am trying to hang onto the boring layout wins from the old place while still getting a bit more storage this time.
What would you lift straight across if you had another go?
