Time waste in trades

Can I get some feedback for a tafe assignment from tradespeople on here. What is the biggest time waster for you or your team on a site? What frustrates you most in relation to the methods and approaches we continue to do that could be improved or removed. Looking for key themes... bricklaying, carpentry, formworkers, electricians, scaff, landscaping, excavation, plumbing, anything and everything welcome. Looking to find small areas to focus and improve. but could have big impact but also could make work more enjoyable, better, safer

Waiting. Blokes standing around because the gear was "on the truck" and the truck wasnt. Or the drawing on site is two revisions behind the one in the site office. Seen it with brickies and chippies.

Biggest waste is starting a job you cant finish because the next trade or the material isnt actually there. For your assignment, that theme shows up on almost every site Ive been on. Not a fancy method. Just sequence.

Client changing their mind after rough-in. Power points, which way a door swings, a wall that was fine on paper. You pull apart work that was already right.

Other one is drawings that dont match whats built. Scaff and formworkers burn hours on that too, not just the sparkies. Small on a whiteboard. Expensive on a Thursday.
