Got a quote back for a new concrete driveway at our place near Logan and I am staring at the number wondering if I am being played or if this is just 2026 maths.
Scope is roughly 38m2, rip out the old cracked bits, 100mm slab they said with mesh, fall to the street grate, and plain grey finish because the fancy exposed aggregate was another jump I did not budget for. They mentioned possible ag pipe along one side if the inspection shows water sitting but that is TBC.
Line items are all over the shop. Prep and excavation one chunk, concrete supply another, labour placement, and then a separate allowance for council crossover if we need it touched up. I asked for $/m2 installed and got a range that felt like a shrug.
If you have had a driveway done recently in SEQ or wider QLD, what did you actually pay per m2 all in, what thickness did you get, and did drainage or finish blow the budget. Trying to work out if I should push back or just wear it.
