QBCC defect complaint timeline QLD how long did yours actually take

I am trying to pull together realistic timelines from people who have actually lodged a defective work issue with QBCC in Queensland, not just what the staged process diagrams say on the website.

If you are ok sharing rough detail: what sort of defect was it (water, roof, slab, finishes, etc), how long until you got a written acknowledgement, did an inspector attend, did the builder rectify without a fight, and did it ever get as far as a Direction to Rectify or did it stall in correspondence.

I know every file is different and this is not legal advice. I just want to calibrate expectations because when you are mid dispute the silence between emails feels worse when you dont know if weeks or months is normal.

Vague region only is fine. No builder naming required.

ours was moisture showing up near a window reveal after handover. First QBCC acknowledgement landed about five weeks after we lodged online.

Inspector did come out eventually. Builder dragged feet on paperwork but did fix it once there was a date on paper. Total calendar time was ugly but not infinite.

Seen a few of these files from the trade side. Fastest outcomes usually involve photos dated clearly and a short written timeline of what you asked the builder to fix before you escalated.

When the folder is messy QBCC still works it but everything slows while they chase basics.
